Quokka Conservation
Quokka Food Co supports a mix of quokka habitat protection, Indigenous-led mainland monitoring, and smaller wildlife rescue organisations that care for injured and orphaned native animals across Western Australia.

Some partners work directly with quokka populations, while others strengthen wildlife hospitals and rehabilitation networks that help vulnerable native animals recover and thrive.

We've determined that these non-profit groups are least likely to expropriate donations for undue promotion or misuse.
Making every donation count.

Direct Support
These organisations are the first line of defence, fighting to preserve quokka habitats and well-being in their natural environment.

Support for them goes directly to conserving our most vulnerable species.

Their Role
The Rottnest Foundation supports conservation projects on Wadjemup / Rottnest Island, which is home to the largest and best-known population of quokkas.
Donations through its quokka donation pathway help protect and preserve quokka habitat and support ongoing quokka monitoring programs.
The foundation also funds broader island conservation work, including habitat rehabilitation, woodland and coastal restoration, native plant nursery work, wildlife research and monitoring cameras.

Impact
One of the foundation’s public quokka projects is Behind the Smile, which raises funds for remote monitoring cameras. These cameras allow Rottnest Island Authority environmental rangers to monitor large remote areas of the island, gather data on quokka populations, and detect changes that may require management action.

When you donate to the Rottnest Foundation, you are helping protect the habitat of Rottnest Island’s quokkas and supporting monitoring programs that give rangers better information about how quokka populations are moving, behaving and responding to environmental pressures. This is the clearest donation option for customers who want their contribution linked directly to quokka habitat protection.

The Rottnest Foundation offers two donation options that help protect the unique beauty, wildlife and heritage of Wadjemup / Rottnest Island. A Conservation Donation supports the island’s Woodlands and Coastal Restoration project by helping plant native seedlings, care for mature trees, and remove invasive coastal weeds that threaten local ecosystems. A Quokka Donation also supports this restoration work, with a focus on improving quokka habitat by creating more food, shade and connected habitat corridors, allowing quokkas to move safely across the island.

Their Role
Bibbul Ngarma Aboriginal Association is a Noongar-led environmental charity based on Whadjuk Boodja in the Perth Hills. Its flagship BoorYul-Bah-Bilya program focuses on the Mandoon Bilya, or Helena River, catchment, combining Traditional Owner leadership, community knowledge and scientific monitoring to restore river and ecosystem health.

Impact
Bibbul Ngarma has become highly relevant to mainland quokka conservation after detecting a quokka population in the Perth Hills. The organisation is now working to understand these Perth Hills quokkas and, with DBCA, design a plan to increase their habitat and support recovery. A recent update states that 10 quokka monitoring cameras have been installed across the Mandoon Bilya catchment, allowing their monitoring program to expand into new areas.

When you donate to Bibbul Ngarma Aboriginal Association, you are supporting Noongar-led conservation in mainland quokka country. Their work helps monitor a rare Perth Hills quokka population, understand how these animals are surviving outside Rottnest Island, and build a stronger plan for habitat recovery across the Helena River catchment.
